Itinerary Highlights
- Day 1: Brisbane
Embark on your cruise in Brisbane and settle into your cabin as your tropical Queensland adventure begins. Take time to explore the ship, enjoy the onboard facilities, and meet your fellow travellers. Join us for a welcome gathering before enjoying your first evening at sea, complete with delicious dining, entertainment, and spectacular views as we set sail.
- Day 2: At Sea
Sue and Merrilyn will meet their groups in the conference room onboard on the first sea day where we will start working on our cruise projects which have been designed exclusively for this cruise. There will be morning and afternoon workshops, so you are able to participate in both crafts if you would like to. Your cruise fare includes either Sashiko with Sue or Beading with Merrilyn, or for an additional fee, you can add the 2nd craft. You will be guided by our expert tutors to complete a stunning project, and learn some new techniques along the way!
- Day 3: Scenic Cruising at Willis Island
Today we pass by the remote Willis Island, a tiny coral cay located in the Coral Sea and home to one of Australia’s most important weather monitoring stations. Scenic cruising provides a unique opportunity to view this isolated outpost and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding turquoise waters and pristine reef environment, and rich birdlife. Be sure to have your camera ready as the ship passes the island for fantastic photo opportunities. We will hold workshops today also, but the times will be scheduled so that you don’t miss our sail past Willis Island.
- Day 4: Cairns
Arrive in Cairns, the gateway to Tropical North Queensland and the world-famous Great Barrier Reef. Explore the vibrant waterfront, browse local markets, or join one of the many shore excursions available. Whether you choose to discover the reef, visit the lush rainforests of the region, or simply relax and enjoy the tropical atmosphere, Cairns offers unforgettable experiences for every traveller.
- Day 5: Airlie Beach
Today we visit Airlie Beach, the heart of the beautiful Whitsunday Coast. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, stunning beaches, and access to the spectacular Whitsunday Islands, Airlie Beach is the perfect place to experience Queensland’s tropical beauty. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront, explore the local shops and cafés, or join an excursion to discover the crystal-clear waters and white sands that make this region famous.
- Day 6: At Sea
As we make our way back towards Brisbane, enjoy our final day at sea, and our final workshops. By now you will have learned all of the techniques you need to in order to finish your project, even if you need to complete it at home after the cruise. Our final night will be one to remember as you enjoy the company of your new crafty friends.
- Day 7: Brisbane
Arrive back in Brisbane this morning, bringing your Queensland coastal adventure to a close. After breakfast, disembark the ship and bid farewell to your fellow travellers. We hope you leave with wonderful memories of your time exploring Australia’s tropical north and look forward to welcoming you onboard your next Crafty Adventure soon.
